About this fabric

The dense-looking weave is visually plain, with fine tonal striations running horizontally rather than a distinct printed motif. Espresso brown shifts subtly between warm chocolate and softer charcoal-brown areas, giving the surface depth without becoming glossy. The finish appears muted and low-sheen, allowing the woven texture to carry the design. This is a composed, tailored colourway suited to upholstery schemes that need strong depth without a hard black contrast.

How to use it

Use Nell Espresso on a statement chair, ottoman or sofa where its dark brown tone can anchor a room. Balance it with oat, stone or tobacco textiles to draw out the warmth in the weave.

Pair this deep espresso tone with warm timber, aged brass and lighter textured upholstery for contrast.

Pairs well with

Nell Espresso is a quiet cloth, so it carries a pattern beside it: one of these on the curtains and this on the chair. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
