About this fabric

This Malabar colourway has a finely speckled, all-over motif that reads as charcoal dots over a warm brown ground, giving the cloth a quiet, weathered depth. The small repeat of approximately V 15cm / H 11cm helps the pattern stay textural rather than bold, so it feels restful from a distance and detailed up close. Woven in 90% Cotton and 10% Polyester, with an approximate width of 132cm, it is a practical textile for schemes that want pattern without brightness. The overall effect is smart and grounded, with the darker marks creating a more tailored look than a lighter neutral would.

How to use it

Pair this charcoal brown with tan leather, dark timber and muted linen for a layered, understated room. It works especially well where you want a patterned fabric that still sits close to a neutral palette.

Use for tailored upholstery or curtains where the dark speckled pattern adds depth without feeling loud.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
