Clarence Brown

Sandford FabricF4898-01

Clarence Brown shows a softly textured stripe in warm biscuit and cocoa tones, with a fine dotted surface that keeps the pattern feeling refined rather than bold. The effect is quietly tailored, with enough movement to add depth to a scheme.

About this fabric

From the Sandford collection by Colefax and Fowler, this fabric is composed of 86% cotton and 14% polyester and measures approximately 136cm wide. The repeat is about V 16cm / H 22cm, giving the design a regular striped rhythm across the cloth. In this colourway, the base reads as a warm biscuit brown while the darker dotted stripes introduce a soft cocoa contrast, so the overall look feels grounded and elegant. The weave-like surface appears lightly speckled rather than flat, which helps the colourway sit comfortably in both classic and contemporary interiors.

How to use it

Use Clarence Brown on an armchair, loose cover, or window seat where its warm neutral stripe can bring definition without looking heavy. It would pair well with oak, tan leather, aged brass, and quiet cream linens.

A warm neutral stripe that adds texture without overpowering a room.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
