About this fabric

This Sandford fabric by Colefax and Fowler is composed of 86% Cotton and 14% Polyester, with an approximate width of 136cm and a vertical repeat of 16cm and horizontal repeat of 22cm. The visible colourway is a warm, muted tomato red set against a pale oatmeal-beige ground, so the pattern reads as crisp but not harsh. The small-scale motif gives the surface a dappled, almost woven look from a distance, while the red detail becomes more intricate up close. With its mid-weight cotton-rich construction and decorative repeat, it sits comfortably in both upholstery and drapery settings.

How to use it

Pair this soft tomato tone with walnut, tobacco leather, or chalky ivory to keep the palette grounded and tailored. It also works well as a patterned accent on an occasional chair, blind, or cushions where the warm red can read clearly.

Use with warm neutrals or dark timber for a tailored, quietly decorative scheme.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
