Mellar Sienna
Romilly FabricF4925-05
Mellar Sienna shows a small, all-over spotted pattern in warm sienna tones over a soft beige ground. The effect is lively but restrained, with the darker marks giving the surface a peppered, textural look.

About this fabric
This colourway of Romilly by Colefax and Fowler reads as a warm sienna brown on a pale beige base, so the motif feels earthy rather than high-contrast. The repeated spots are small and closely spaced, creating a dense, tactile surface that holds interest at close range while still sitting quietly from a distance. Woven in a cotton-rich composition of 79% Cotton, 12% Polyester and 9% Viscose, it measures approximately 138cm wide with a vertical repeat of 32cm and horizontal repeat of 34cm. The finish has the look of a practical decorative textile rather than a sheen-led cloth, which makes the pattern feel grounded and easy to live with. Care code Q 8 < T 3 and fire code √BM are supplied for this exact fabric.
How to use it
Use Mellar Sienna on a slipper chair, window seat or cushions where the warm brown spotting can add movement without overwhelming the room. It works especially well alongside putty, oak and worn leather tones, where its beige ground keeps it light.
Pair it with plain linens or a deep timber finish to let the spotted motif take the lead.

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Mellar Sienna without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it
Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
