J Brown

Amalfi Chocolate

Amalfi Fabric08

Amalfi Chocolate reads as a deep, hushed brown with a very dark cocoa cast and a softly mottled plain surface. The finish looks dense and even, with just enough texture to keep the colour from flattening out.

About this fabric

Part of the Amalfi collection by J Brown, this plain fabric is made from 100% polyester and supplied for contract use. The swatch shows a rich chocolate-brown tone that sits close to black in low light, but reveals warmer cocoa notes where the pile catches the light. With a Martindale rating of 60,000, it is built for hard-working upholstery, and the back coating to cigarette & match BS5852 adds another practical layer for commercial schemes. The surface appears smooth and tightly finished rather than glossy, giving it a restrained, tailored look. Professional dry clean in situ is advised, with further care instructions in the pattern book.

How to use it

Use Amalfi Chocolate on sofas, banquettes or accent chairs where you want a grounded, absorbing colour that still feels polished. It works especially well with oak, tan leather and warm metallic accents for a layered, contract-ready scheme.

A rich, dark neutral that gives seating a tailored, understated finish.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
