Bonseki Chocolate

Harlequin x Henry Holland Weaves FabricHAF0582-03

Bonseki Chocolate is a deep, warm brown woven fabric animated by pale, broken contour lines that gather into softly rounded, organic forms. The contrast is subtle rather than high-impact, giving the surface a layered, tactile appearance.

About this fabric

The chocolate-brown ground is covered with dense, swirling linework in a lighter brown-beige tone, creating a pattern that resembles clustered brush marks or topographic contours. Its 68.1 cm vertical and 34.6 cm horizontal repeat gives the organic design a considered rhythm across the cloth. At 464 gsm, with a 138 cm usable width, this is a substantial textile particularly suited to upholstery. The close construction of 137 threads per cm helps the fine curved marks read clearly while adding visual depth to the dark colourway.

How to use it

Use Bonseki Chocolate on a shaped armchair, sofa or dining seat where its warm depth can anchor a room. Pair it with aged timber, brushed metal and quiet oat or mushroom textiles to pick up the lighter contour lines without competing with the pattern.

A richly textured chocolate ground with lighter organic linework, well suited to tailored upholstery.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
