About this fabric

This Jane Churchill fabric is composed of 65% polyester and 35% cotton, with an approximate width of 142cm and a vertical and horizontal repeat of 0cm, so it presents as a plain cloth rather than a patterned design. In this colourway, the surface appears almost espresso-black in low light, then opens into warmer brown notes where the weave catches. The texture is fine and lightly striated, giving the cloth a tailored, slightly dry hand rather than a glossy finish. With care code C 8 < T 3 and fire code K, it is a practical textile for scheme planning as well as style. Its understated depth makes it feel more refined than rustic, especially in this rich chocolate shade.

How to use it

Use it to ground pale linens, warm oak and aged brass, or pair it with tobacco leather and mushroom neutrals for a layered, tailored room. The dark brown tone is especially effective on upholstery where you want depth without a harsh black edge.

A rich dark neutral that works as a calm base for tailored interiors.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
