About this fabric

This plain fabric from Jane Churchill's Emile II collection is woven in a 50% cotton, 50% polyester blend and measures approximately 140cm wide, with a vertical and horizontal repeat of 0cm. The surface appears fine and even, with a very subtle texture that keeps the smoky brown tone looking soft rather than flat. In this colourway, the shade sits between cocoa and charcoal, so it feels grounded and versatile without turning overly warm. The C 8 + T 3 care code and K fire code make it a practical specification-led choice for interior schemes where a restrained, smart finish is needed.

How to use it

Use Emile Smoke on upholstered seating, headboards or simple drapes where its muted brown depth can add warmth without dominating the room. It pairs especially well with pale oak, chalk white and bronze accents for a tailored, modern look.

A muted dark neutral that suits tailored upholstery or elegant curtains.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
