Emile Sea Blue

Emile II FabricJ896F-41

Emile Sea Blue is a deep teal-blue plain with a softly shaded surface and a calm, enveloping look. The colour reads cool and moody, with just enough green in the mix to keep it from feeling flat.

About this fabric

This Emile II fabric by Jane Churchill is composed of 50% cotton and 50% polyester, with a width of approximately 140cm and a vertical and horizontal repeat of 0cm, so the surface reads as a clean plain rather than a patterned cloth. In this Sea Blue colourway, the swatch shows a dense blue-green tone that appears slightly darker at the edges and softer where the light lifts the pile or weave. The finish has a smooth, understated texture that gives the colour depth without shine. Care code C 8 + T 3 and fire code K are supplied for this exact fabric.

How to use it

Use Sea Blue to anchor a sofa, headboard, or dining chairs when you want a strong colour that still feels controlled. It pairs particularly well with pale oak, chalky whites, and warm brass, which bring out the fabric’s green-blue depth.

A rich blue-green that adds depth without feeling bright or icy.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
