Emile Rust

Emile II FabricJ896F-65

Emile Rust is a solid, earthy rust with a soft orange-brown cast and a smooth, even surface. The colour reads warm and grounded, with enough depth to feel tailored rather than bright.

About this fabric

This colourway in Emile II is a plain-woven fabric with no visible repeat, which keeps the focus on its rich rust tone and fine, low-key texture. The 50% cotton and 50% polyester composition gives it a balanced handle, while the 140cm approximate width makes it practical for a range of interior applications. Its C 8 + T 3 care code and K fire code are supplied for specification, and the finish appears matte rather than glossy. In the photo, the shade sits between terracotta and burnt orange, with a slightly muted warmth that softens the overall effect.

How to use it

Use it on an accent chair, bench or headboard where the rust colour can add warmth without overpowering the room. It also works well with tan leather, walnut and oatmeal textiles for a calm, layered palette.

Pair with ochre, tobacco and textured neutrals for a rich, grounded scheme.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
