About this fabric

The rust-orange background gives this fabric a distinctly warm, earthy character, while the blue-grey and cream motifs provide cool contrast. Stylised flowers, curling paisleys, leaves and fine botanical stems are packed closely across the surface, creating a medium-scale pattern with plenty of visual movement. Darker charcoal-like outlines add definition to the paler forms, while the lighter details catch the eye against the deep ground. This is catalogued as a fabric from Art of the Loom’s Archive Collection, with no performance features noted.

How to use it

Use the warm rust ground to add depth to a reading nook, occasional chair or layered window treatment, then echo its blue-grey accents in cushions, painted cabinetry or small accessories. Keep surrounding furnishings relatively plain so the intricate floral and paisley detail remains the focal point.

Pair the warm rust ground with natural linens, aged timber and blue-grey accents to draw out the pattern’s quieter details.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Kandesh Small Rust without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
