Emile Royal Blue

Emile II FabricJ896F-52

Emile Royal Blue is a striking, near-inky blue with a smooth plain surface and a deep, even finish. In the swatch, the colour reads as richly saturated and cool, with just enough softness in the fibre mix to keep it from feeling flat.

About this fabric

This colourway is shown as a plain, unpatterned cloth with a dense, velvety-looking surface and a strong, uniform blue depth. The 50% cotton and 50% polyester composition gives it a balanced handle, while the 140cm approximate width makes it practical for a range of made-to-measure projects. With a vertical and horizontal repeat of 0cm approximately, it is suitable where a clean uninterrupted expanse of colour is wanted. The shade itself sits in a classic royal blue register: dark, refined and slightly shadowed at the edges, rather than bright or primary.

How to use it

Use Emile Royal Blue to add crisp contrast against pale walls, natural oak or brushed metal, where the colour can read as especially tailored. It works well for statement chairs, cushions or curtains when you want a smart, grounded blue with depth.

A rich, saturated blue that brings a crisp, tailored finish to upholstery or curtains.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
