Kensington Chocolate

Brodsworth Fabric

Kensington Chocolate is a rich, near-black brown with a subtle textile texture that softens the depth of the shade. The surface reads matte and even, with just enough tonal variation to keep the colourway from feeling flat.

About this fabric

This colourway sits firmly in the darker end of the brown spectrum, reading as a deep chocolate with cool, almost espresso-like shadows across the cloth. The plain pattern and zero repeat make the focus the colour itself, while the fine surface texture adds a quiet, fabric-led finish rather than a glossy one. Woven in 100% polyester and supplied at 140cm wide, it is a practical upholstery fabric with a neat, controlled handle. The overall effect is smart and subdued, ideal when you want depth without the starkness of black.

How to use it

Use Kensington Chocolate on a sofa, dining chair or upholstered headboard where its dark warmth can anchor the room. It works especially well with tan leather, oatmeal linens, brass and walnut for a layered, tailored palette.

Pair this dark brown with warm neutrals and wood finishes for a grounded, tailored look.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
