Forbidden Fruit Crimson

Curious Creatures by Becca Who FabricFRBDDNCRMS

Forbidden Fruit Crimson sets an elaborate menagerie against a saturated, wine-dark red ground. Coiled snakes, pomegranates and spreading fern fronds create a richly layered surface in navy, olive, teal, black and ivory.

About this fabric

The crimson background reads deep and warm, giving the pattern a dramatic, almost nocturnal depth rather than a bright scarlet effect. White-edged snakes curl through dense navy and charcoal foliage, while red pomegranate forms and small floral details add concentrated flashes of colour. Olive and blue-green fern fronds arc across the design, balancing the dark ground with finely articulated botanical movement. No composition, width, rub test or performance specification has been supplied for this exact fabric.

How to use it

Use this colourway where its deep crimson can act as the room’s statement note: on an occasional chair, headboard or full-length curtains against smoky neutrals and dark painted joinery. Pick up the olive fern tones in cushions or painted furniture, while keeping surrounding patterns restrained.

Pair the deep crimson ground with dark timber, aged brass and quiet neutral upholstery for a richly theatrical scheme.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Forbidden Fruit Crimson without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
