About this fabric

This colourway shows a strong crimson tone with a subtle burgundy undertone, giving the velvet a warm, opulent finish rather than a bright scarlet look. The plain surface and soft directional sheen are clearly visible in the image, where the pile catches light unevenly for a luxurious depth. Made from 60% polyester, 28% recycled polyester, 8% acrylic and 4% viscose, it is a hard-working velvet with a 100,000 Martindale rub test and contract plus general domestic upholstery grade. It is 137cm wide and suitable for curtains, loose cover upholstery and fixed upholstery, with an A-rated BS5852 Part 1 fire performance. Care includes dry clean, delicate wash at 30°C, stain resistance, and no ironing or tumble drying.

How to use it

Use this crimson velvet on a statement armchair, banquette or bench to add a jewel-like focal point. It also makes elegant curtains where the deep red tone will read especially rich in evening light.
