Pluto Maroon

Pluto Fabric

Pluto Maroon is a deep, earthy red with a warm brown undertone and a softly mottled woven surface. The plain cloth reads rich and grounded rather than bright, giving it a tailored, understated presence.

About this fabric

This Linwood fabric combines 30% cotton, 25% viscose, 15% linen and 30% wool, and at 137cm wide it is suited to a wide range of making-up projects. The 40,000 Martindale rub test and upholstery grade of Contract, General Domestic make it a practical choice for both fixed and loose-cover upholstery, while its dual-purpose usage also works well for curtains. Visually, the cloth has a fine, even weave with a dry, natural handle that suits the warm maroon tone. The colour sits between claret and oxblood, with a muted brown-red depth that keeps it sophisticated. It is dry clean only and stain resistant, with BS5852 Part 1 Source 0 and 1 compliance.

How to use it

Use Pluto Maroon on a structured armchair or sofa to add depth without shine, especially in rooms with oak, walnut or brushed brass. As curtains, the shade feels cosy and enveloping, bringing a rich note to neutral or stone-coloured schemes.

A rich maroon that brings warmth to tailored upholstery and elegant curtains.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
