About this fabric

This plain velvet colourway reads as a clear, high-impact red rather than a muted burgundy, with a warm, vivid tone that feels rich and confident. The surface has the soft directional sheen you expect from velvet, so the shade shifts subtly as the light moves across it. It is supplied at 137cm wide and has a 100,000 Martindale rub test, making it suitable for contract and general domestic upholstery as well as curtains and loose covers. The composition includes 60% polyester and 28% recycled polyester, with acrylic and viscose for added handle and appearance. It is also FR rated to BS5852 Part 1 Source 0 and 1, and should be dry cleaned or washed with care at 30°C.

How to use it

Use this pillarbox red to bring warmth and drama to a chair, banquette or full-height curtain, especially against dark timber, brass or deep green accents. Its bright velvet finish works best when allowed to be the focal point of the room.
