About this fabric

This Linwood velvet has a plush, light-catching finish that gives the plain cloth subtle depth rather than a flat solid colour. The Damson colourway is less purple than a classic plum and less bright than a red, sitting instead in a softened rose-berry range that feels rich but restrained. With a width of 137cm and a Martindale rub test of 100,000, it is suitable for both contract and general domestic upholstery, as well as curtains and loose covers. The composition of 60% polyester, 28% recycled polyester, 8% acrylic and 4% viscose supports a durable, practical velvet that can be used across busy interiors. The plain repeat and stain-resistant finish make it especially easy to style in schemes that need colour, texture and everyday resilience.

How to use it

Use Damson on a statement chair or banquette to bring warmth to neutral rooms, or pair it with taupe, charcoal and soft blush for a layered, tailored look. Its muted depth also works well for curtains where you want colour that feels cocooning rather than vivid.
