About this fabric

This substantial 546gsm fabric is suited to upholstery, with a richly textured appearance that reinforces its confident, decorative character. Deep crimson dominates the ground, while broken ivory lines travel vertically in an energetic, organic pattern reminiscent of a highly abstract animal stripe. The ivory detail softens the intensity of the red without making the overall effect muted, so the colourway retains a dramatic, luxe presence. It has a 140cm usable width, a 52cm vertical repeat and a 23.5cm horizontal repeat; the standard length is 40m.

How to use it

Use Gautier Passion as statement upholstery against warm ivory, natural timber or deep brown accents, allowing the crimson ground to anchor the room. On a chair, ottoman or headboard, its vertical ivory movement adds visual height and a sense of layered texture.

Use this saturated crimson and ivory design to bring dramatic pattern and tactile depth to an upholstered chair, sofa or headboard.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Gautier Passion without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
