Latour Charcoal

Latour FabricCCF0086-01

Latour Charcoal has an atmospheric, vertically striated appearance, with charcoal and blue-grey marks breaking through a pale stone ground. Its distressed surface shifts between softly clouded areas and darker, more defined strokes.

About this fabric

The visible design combines fine vertical grain with irregular charcoal, grey and muted stone deposits, creating a layered abstract effect rather than a conventional motif. At 431gsm, it has a substantial presence suited to upholstery, while the 142cm usable width offers generous coverage. The pattern repeats vertically over 101.5cm and horizontally over 140cm, giving the elongated marks a large-scale rhythm across a chair, sofa or headboard. Darker charcoal passages add depth to the otherwise light, cool-toned ground.

How to use it

Use Latour Charcoal on a statement armchair or contemporary sofa where its cool grey depth can sit against chalky walls and pale timber. Repeat the stone tones with textured cushions or flooring to soften the stronger vertical marks.

Pair the charcoal striations with pale timber, brushed metal or warm neutral upholstery accents.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Latour Charcoal without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
