About this fabric

The terracotta ground has a softly weathered, red-clay quality rather than a bright or saturated red, giving this colourway a warm, grounded character. Cream leaves repeat across the cloth in a medium-scale botanical pattern, with visible veins and irregular serrated edges that keep the design naturalistic. Fine woven lines show through the ground and motifs, adding a lightly tactile, crosshatched texture to the surface. The balanced weight and clear repeat make it suitable for either upholstery or drapery.

How to use it

Use Ferndown colour 5 to bring a warm terracotta accent to a relaxed sitting room, especially alongside ivory upholstery, honey-toned wood and other natural woven surfaces. Its cream leaves also work well as a bridge between red-clay shades and softer neutral furnishings.

Pair the muted terracotta ground with warm timber, chalky creams and natural woven textures for a relaxed country-inspired scheme.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Ferndown colour 5 without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
