Monroe Red

Mulberry Croft Weaves FabricFD853.V106

Monroe Red has a muted terracotta-red ground with a softly variegated woven surface. Fine vertical striations and pale flecks give the colour a gently weathered depth rather than a flat, saturated finish.

About this fabric

This 140 cm-wide fabric combines 57% viscose, 18% polyester, 18% linen and 7% cotton. Its close, irregular weave creates subtle slub-like lines and tonal movement across the warm clay-red surface, with the lighter threads catching the light in narrow vertical traces. A 20,000 Martindale rub test makes it suitable for loose and fixed upholstery, while the supplied usage also includes curtains and bedspreads. It must be professionally dry cleaned and should not be washed, bleached or ironed.

How to use it

Use Monroe Red to bring a grounded, warm accent to an otherwise neutral room, particularly on a tailored chair, sofa cushion or relaxed curtain. Its softened terracotta tone pairs naturally with oatmeal, chalky beige, dark wood and aged brass.

A softly textured terracotta weave with enough durability for upholstery and enough drape for curtains and bedspreads.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
