Braemar Russet is a richly coloured woven check, combining warm russet bands with cream, muted blue-grey and soft olive accents. Its close wool texture gives the plaid a tactile, substantial appearance.

About this fabric

Woven from 100% wool, this colourway has a warm russet ground crossed by cream lines and subdued blue-grey and olive-toned checks. The 31 cm vertical repeat and 25 cm horizontal repeat create clearly defined medium-scale blocks, while the tightly interlaced surface softens the contrast between the colours. At 150 cm wide, it is specified for curtains, loose upholstery, fixed upholstery and bedspreads. The fabric has a 20,000 Martindale rub test and must be professionally dry cleaned; it should not be washed, bleached or ironed.

How to use it

Use the earthy russet tone to warm a reading chair, sofa or upholstered headboard, then repeat the cream and blue-grey threads in cushions or painted joinery. As curtains or a bedspread, the softly muted checks add a relaxed country feel without losing visual depth.
