Bowmont Russet

Bowmont Russet is a richly warm wool check in burnished russet terracotta, crossed by softly contrasting cream and tan lines. Its close woven surface gives the colour a gently mottled depth rather than a flat, uniform finish.

About this fabric

The design combines broad russet and muted tan bands with fine pale dotted lines, forming a neat medium-scale checked grid. The warm terracotta-brown ground reads earthy and inviting, while the lighter lines add definition without making the pattern feel stark. Woven from 100% wool, this 144 cm wide fabric has a substantial textile character suited to curtains, loose upholstery, fixed upholstery and bedspreads. The pattern repeats every 10 cm vertically and 9 cm horizontally, and it has a 20,000 Martindale rub test.

How to use it

Use Bowmont Russet to bring a grounded, country-leaning warmth to an armchair, sofa or upholstered headboard, pairing it with oat, chalk and weathered timber tones. As curtains or a bedspread, its russet check adds depth while the cream grid keeps the room visually balanced.
