Ghillie Teal

Ghillie Teal is a softly muted teal plaid, crossed with fine bands of warm tan, olive, brown and charcoal. Its restrained colour contrast gives the check a layered, timeworn character rather than a sharp graphic effect.

About this fabric

Woven in 100% wool, this 147 cm-wide cloth has a softly textured, matte surface that lets the teal ground read as deep and slightly greyed. Narrow and wider bands form a measured plaid, with ochre-tan lines warming the cooler blue-green base and dark brown lines adding definition. A 12 cm vertical repeat and 11.3 cm horizontal repeat keep the check easy to place across upholstery and larger drops. Ghillie Teal is specified for curtains, loose upholstery, fixed upholstery and bedspreads, with a 20,000 Martindale rub test.

How to use it

Use Ghillie Teal to upholster a reading chair, window seat or relaxed sofa where its cool teal ground can sit alongside walnut, aged oak and warm neutral linens. As curtains or a bedspread, the tan and brown checks introduce gentle warmth without losing the depth of the teal.
