Neutrals Paint

Amateur Ceramics is a gentle neutral with a ceramic-cream cast and a quiet beige warmth. It sits easily in the room without looking stark, and feels settled rather than creamy.

About this colour

This shade reads as a soft, warm neutral with a pale clay-beige character, lifted by enough lightness to keep it open on the wall. In north-facing rooms it can look more muted and slightly greyer, while in south-facing light the warmer sandy notes come forward and it feels fuller and softer. It works well beside natural oak, walnut and painted joinery in off-white, mushroom or muted brown tones. On woodwork it gives a calm contrast without becoming sharp, and on walls it supports upholstery in linen, taupe, camel and deeper earthy fabrics.

How to use it

Use it in sitting rooms, bedrooms or hallways where you want warmth without yellow. It pairs well with oak furniture, heritage-style joinery and upholstery in stone, tobacco, rust or softened olive.
