About this colour

This shade reads as a muted forest green with a strong grey base, so it feels cool-leaning rather than bright or grassy. Its depth absorbs a fair amount of light, making it feel intimate on a wall and especially settled in lower-slung rooms. In north-facing light it can turn more subdued and charcoal-tinged, while south-facing light brings out the green in it without making it vivid. It works well beside pale oak, walnut, aged brass and off-white upholstery, where its dark restraint gives the other materials room to stand out. In Flat Matt it feels calm and architectural, while Eggshell, Soft Sheen and Floor Paint give the same colour a more practical finish for woodwork and floors.

How to use it

Brewer suits studies, hallways and living rooms where you want a deeper backdrop for curtains or upholstered chairs in flax, oatmeal or tobacco tones. It also sits neatly with painted joinery, especially alongside natural timber and traditional millwork.

On a wall, Brewer is a deep, muted green that feels steady and refined.
