Velvet fabrics Velvet119

Adamo & Eva Prugna is a richly saturated plum velvet with a smooth, uninterrupted surface. Its deep burgundy-purple tone appears almost black in the shadowed areas, while the pile catches a restrained sheen across the swatch.

About this fabric

The plain velvet surface has a dense, even appearance, with no visible motif or contrasting weave. Its Prugna colour sits between dark purple and burgundy, giving the swatch a moody, wine-dark depth rather than a bright red cast. Subtle changes in the pile direction create soft shifts between near-black plum and a warmer, more reflective berry tone. The result is an enveloping, luxe-looking upholstery fabric with strong visual colour even across this small plain sample.

How to use it

Use this deep plum-burgundy velvet to give an armchair, headboard or sofa a dramatic focal presence. Pair it with warm timber, antique brass and quieter cream or taupe textiles to balance its dark, saturated tone.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
