Velours Moorea Prune shows a dense, velvet-rich surface in a deep prune tone, patterned with a fine, irregular abstract motif that reads almost like a mottled print from a distance. The darker berry ground gives the cloth a moody, polished presence with a softer, lighter contrast worked through the design.

About this fabric

From the Velours Tosca collection by Manuel Canovas, this fabric is made in a 92% viscose and 8% polyester composition and measures approximately 136cm wide. The velvet surface catches the light unevenly, which softens the small abstract repeat and gives the prune colouring extra depth. A vertical repeat of about 20cm and horizontal repeat of about 17cm create a lively but controlled pattern that suits close-up use. The overall effect is rich and slightly shadowed, with the plum and berry notes shifting as the pile moves. It is a strong choice where a luxurious textile feel is wanted, and the fire code is √BM.

How to use it

This dark prune colourway works beautifully on an armchair, ottoman or banquette where its velvet sheen can be seen in changing light. Pair it with deep wood, brass and creamy neutrals to balance the saturated tone.

Use with walnut timber and warm metallics to let the rich prune ground glow.
