Sunday Cactus is a deep forest-green velvet with an almost-black depth in the photographed swatch. Its plain face is softly enlivened by the way the nap catches the light.

About this fabric

The colour reads as a cool, very dark green rather than a bright or leafy shade, giving the velvet a quiet, dramatic presence. A low, subtle nap creates gentle tonal shifts across the otherwise plain surface, visible as slightly lighter and darker areas in the swatch. As a velvet fabric, it has the dense, plush appearance associated with upholstery and brings particular depth to tailored seating and other padded pieces.

How to use it

Pair this near-black forest green with warm timber, aged brass or pale stone to keep the room from feeling too cool. It is especially effective on a sofa, deep armchair or upholstered headboard where the velvet’s changing nap can be seen.

Use this almost-black green velvet to give sofas, headboards or occasional chairs a rich, enveloping finish.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
