Florio Incense

The house has discontinued this one. We are keeping the page so the link still works, but we can no longer order it. There are alternatives below, and if you have a cutting or a photograph we will help you match it.

Florio Incense presents a quiet taupe-mauve ground with fine, irregular horizontal ripples running across the surface. The shade sits between warm grey and softened brown, while the raised texture gives the plain design gentle movement.

About this fabric

At 370gsm, Florio Incense has the substantial feel of a versatile furnishing textile suitable for both upholstery and drapery. Its muted mauve-taupe colour is subdued rather than pink, with darker linear ridges and lighter highlights catching across the softly crinkled surface. The fabric has a 142cm useable width and a 30m standard length. The subtle texture is documented with a 6cm vertical repeat and a 140cm horizontal repeat, creating broad, understated surface rhythm rather than a bold motif.

How to use it

Use Florio Incense on an occasional chair, headboard or full-length curtain where its warm grey-mauve tone can soften charcoal, mushroom and natural timber. Its low-contrast rippled surface also works well as a tactile counterpoint to smoother plain fabrics.

Its softly rippled taupe-mauve surface brings understated depth to upholstery, curtains and layered neutral schemes.

Pairs well with

Florio Incense is a quiet cloth, so it carries a pattern beside it: one of these on the curtains and this on the chair. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
