Nevido Charcoal/Slate
Velika Velvets VelvetHAF0334-04
The house has discontinued this one. We are keeping the page so the link still works, but we can no longer order it. There are alternatives below, and if you have a cutting or a photograph we will help you match it.
Nevido Charcoal/Slate is a dense velvet marked by alternating near-black charcoal and cool slate-grey bands. Tiny pointed, lozenge-like marks give each stripe a finely textured edge, while the pile creates a subtle change in sheen across the swatch.

About this fabric
This 590 gsm velvet has a substantial visual and physical presence, making it particularly suited to upholstery. Closely repeated vertical marks form horizontal bands of deep charcoal and pale, silvery slate, producing a cool, architectural rhythm rather than a soft tonal fade. The darker stripes absorb the light, while the slate sections catch it with a muted, brushed brightness characteristic of the visible pile. It has a 137 cm usable width, a 29.8 cm vertical repeat and a 1.7 cm horizontal repeat.
How to use it
Use Nevido Charcoal/Slate on a tailored armchair, sofa or headboard where its cool slate highlights can lift the depth of the charcoal. Keep surrounding finishes restrained—pale stone, smoked timber and brushed metal will reinforce its graphic, quietly luxe character.
Use the cool charcoal and slate contrast to bring graphic depth to tailored upholstery.
Pairs well with
A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Nevido Charcoal/Slate without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it
Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
