About this fabric

The surface is visually plain, with no discernible motif and a 0cm vertical and horizontal pattern repeat. In this colourway, charcoal and graphite tones sit together across the pile, preventing the dark shade from reading as flat black. At 450gsm with 118 threads per cm, the cloth has a substantial, closely woven appearance suited to upholstery. It has a usable width of 140cm and is supplied in a standard 25m length.

How to use it

Use Birodo Smoke on a deep-buttoned chair, sofa or ottoman where its charcoal depth can anchor a room without the sharper contrast of true black. Pair it with pale stone, warm timber or brushed metal so the nap’s understated light shifts remain visible.

A deep Smoke velvet with a restrained sheen and substantial handle, suited to elegant upholstery and tailored seating.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
