Orkney Taupe

Orkney Boucle Fabric

Orkney Taupe has a warm mushroom-brown cast, softened by fine tonal variation across its boucle surface. The close-up reveals a softly irregular, tactile weave rather than a printed motif.

About this fabric

The fabric’s taupe ground shifts subtly between muted brown-grey and lighter flecks, giving the surface gentle depth without a strong pattern. Small looped fibres create the characteristic nubby boucle texture visible across the swatch. Its substantial-looking, softly brushed surface reads as comfortable and informal, making it particularly well suited to upholstered furniture. No composition, width, rub-test or other performance figures are supplied for this colourway, and no performance features are noted in the listing.

How to use it

Use Orkney Taupe on a generous armchair, sofa or footstool where its warm mushroom tone can soften darker timber and sit comfortably with oatmeal, stone and muted olive accents. Pair it with smooth leather or crisp linen to contrast with the boucle’s tactile surface.

A warm mushroom-taupe boucle with softly irregular texture, suited to relaxed upholstered seating.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
