Orkney Umber

Orkney Boucle Fabric

Orkney Umber is a richly dark brown boucle with a softly irregular, nubby surface. Its near-charcoal depth is warmed by subtle umber and cocoa variations across the pile.

About this fabric

The close-up reveals a dense, tactile boucle construction rather than a printed motif, with small raised fibres creating gentle tonal movement. The colour sits between deep brown and softened charcoal, giving the surface a grounded, enveloping appearance rather than a bright or red-toned warmth. The substantial-looking weave makes this colourway particularly convincing on upholstered seating, where its texture can be seen across broader panels. No performance features are noted for this fabric.

How to use it

Use Orkney Umber on a sofa, armchair or footstool in a room with aged timber, warm stone and soft cream accents. Its deep brown tone can also anchor lighter boucle cushions or muted olive and rust accessories.

A deep, earthy boucle with a tactile napped surface for relaxed upholstery schemes.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
