Herringbone Lava

Strathspey Fabric

Herringbone Lava is a richly shaded woven textile, combining brown-taupe grounds with subtle rust and charcoal threads. Its small-scale chevron structure gives the surface a quiet, tactile rhythm.

About this fabric

The colour reads as a warm, earthy brown with a softened taupe cast rather than a bright red lava tone. Fine rust-coloured threads appear between darker charcoal accents, creating depth across the close herringbone weave. The compact pattern remains understated at a distance, while the tightly textured surface becomes more apparent up close. No performance features are noted for this fabric.

How to use it

Use Herringbone Lava on a classic armchair, sofa or dining seat where its warm brown depth can sit comfortably with timber, leather and muted natural shades. Pair it with lighter oat or stone textiles to draw out the subtle rust threading.

Use this warm, finely patterned brown weave to bring depth to upholstered seating and occasional chairs.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
