Tayside Chestnut

Tayside Wool Linen Fabric

Tayside Chestnut combines deep chestnut brown with charcoal and pale grey flecks in a densely textured woven surface. The close-up reveals a lively, irregular nubby structure rather than a printed motif.

About this fabric

The dark brown ground is softened by interwoven grey and charcoal threads, giving this colourway a muted, smoky depth. Small raised loops and uneven slubs catch the light across the surface, creating subtle variation without a formal pattern. Its visibly substantial weave makes it well suited to upholstery, particularly where a tactile, quietly rustic finish is wanted. No performance features are noted for this fabric.

How to use it

Use Tayside Chestnut on an armchair, sofa or dining seat where its warm brown-grey tone can anchor lighter timber, stone and soft neutral schemes. Pair it with aged leather or brushed metal to bring out the colourway’s charcoal flecks.

A dense, nubby brown-grey weave with a quietly rustic character for upholstered seating.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
