About this fabric

The close weave combines slate, graphite and silvery-grey threads, giving the surface depth rather than a flat block of colour. Short, uneven-looking yarn crossings create a tactile, subtly nubby texture that catches the light in small variations. This is a textile SKU catalogued as Fabric, and no performance features are noted for this exact colourway. Its visually dense construction makes it a considered choice for upholstery where a quiet, textured grey is wanted.

How to use it

Use Tayside Seal on a sofa, armchair or dining seat to introduce a cool charcoal foundation without the severity of solid black. Pair its salt-and-pepper surface with pale timber, chalky walls and brushed metal for a calm, tactile scheme.

Its dense, softly irregular weave brings a cool charcoal texture to upholstered seating and occasional furniture.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
