Hampton Stripe Oatmeal

Hampton Fabric04

Hampton Stripe Oatmeal shows a relaxed striped weave in soft oatmeal, pale cream and a muted blue-grey accent. The yarn-dyed look feels gentle and textural, with the light stripe keeping the whole sample airy.

About this fabric

From the Hampton collection by J Brown, this Print & Weaves design is one of 40 patterns and is specified for General Domestic use. The cloth is a practical 67% Polyester, 33% Recycled Polyester with a 20,000 Martindale, and it is supplied back coated to Cigarette & Match to BS5852. Visually, the oatmeal ground reads as a warm beige with a slightly mottled weave, softened by a chalky ivory stripe and lifted by a cool, dusty blue-grey band. The diagonal texture gives the stripes a subtly tailored feel rather than a flat printed look, so the colourway stays calm and lived-in.

How to use it

Use this colourway on a compact chair, banquette or ottoman where the oatmeal ground can warm the scheme without feeling heavy. It pairs especially well with pale oak, putty paintwork and washed blue accessories to echo the cooler stripe.

A soft neutral stripe with an easy, understated feel that layers well with timber and linen textures.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
