Gobi Abyss

Gobi Fabric

Gobi Abyss is a cool, muted blue-grey textile with a finely pebbled woven surface. Its close, tonal construction gives the colour a softly atmospheric depth rather than a flat, uniform appearance.

About this fabric

Viewed close up, the surface is formed from tiny interlocking threads in blue-grey, pale grey and subtly darker flecks, creating a delicate all-over texture without a separate motif. The cool Abyss tone reads quietly sophisticated, with the lighter threads catching the surface and preventing the shade from feeling stark or overly dark. Its visible weave has enough body to suit upholstery as well as drapery, although no performance features or further specification data are supplied for this colourway. The restrained texture makes the fabric feel smart and contemporary while retaining a tactile, woven character.

How to use it

Pair Gobi Abyss with chalky whites, pale oak and brushed metal for a cool, calm room, or use it against charcoal and deep navy to draw out its blue-grey depth. It would work particularly well on a clean-lined chair, headboard or full-length curtain.

Use this cool blue-grey weave to bring quiet depth to contemporary upholstery, cushions or softly tailored window treatments.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
