Ion Pinecone

Ion Fabric

Ion Pinecone is a deep charcoal-grey textile with a softly weathered, abstract surface. Its low-contrast tonal variation gives the dark colour depth without introducing a strong graphic motif.

About this fabric

The fabric shows a close woven texture, with fine horizontal definition beneath irregular smoky patches and shadowed vertical marks. Its charcoal base shifts subtly between graphite grey and near-black, creating a cool, restrained appearance rather than a flat solid. The softly mottled surface catches the light unevenly, making the colour feel deeper in some areas and gently lifted in others. This textured, substantial-looking cloth is particularly suited to upholstery where its tonal variation can remain visible across a larger form.

How to use it

Use Ion Pinecone on a sofa, headboard or occasional chair in a contemporary room layered with pale stone, aged timber and brushed metal. Its cool charcoal tone also works as a grounding neutral beside softer greys and muted green accents.

Use this deep charcoal tone on upholstered seating to bring quiet depth to a modern, tonal scheme.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Ion Pinecone without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
