Orion Indigo

Orion Indigo is a deeply shaded blue textile with a near-black intensity and a subtly uneven surface. Fine horizontal striations move across the swatch, giving the colour depth rather than a flat solid appearance.

About this fabric

The colour sits between rich navy and ink, with cooler blue notes emerging where the surface catches the light. Its close, horizontal texture creates a restrained linear effect, while the irregular marks keep the dark ground from looking completely uniform. The swatch reads as a substantial, upholstery-suitable fabric with a composed, tailored character. This is a quietly dramatic indigo colourway, bringing depth without the brightness of a more saturated blue.

How to use it

Use Orion Indigo on a sofa, headboard or occasional chair when a room needs an inky blue anchor. Pair its cool depth with pale timber, chalky neutrals or warm metallic accents to bring out the subtle texture.

Use this near-black indigo blue to give upholstered seating a quietly tailored, textural finish.

Pairs well with

Orion Indigo is a quiet cloth, so it carries a pattern beside it: one of these on the curtains and this on the chair. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
