About this fabric

Smooth Vintage Rose is catalogued as a Fabric from Kirkby Design’s Smooth Iii collection; no composition, width or performance features are supplied for this colourway. In the swatch, the surface is almost plain, with a very fine, even texture rather than a visible motif. Its dusky rose tone leans warm, carrying a muted terracotta-brown cast that keeps the pink from looking sugary or bright. The matte-looking face reads softly at this scale, with only slight tonal variation across the surface.

How to use it

Use this warm terracotta rose on an upholstered chair, headboard or sofa where its muted depth can add colour without becoming vivid. It pairs naturally with clay, taupe, warm cream and softened brown tones.

A warm, muted rose with a terracotta cast, suited to tonal upholstery and softly contrasting neutrals.

Pairs well with

Smooth Vintage Rose is a quiet cloth, so it carries a pattern beside it: one of these on the curtains and this on the chair. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
