About this colour

In this shade, #C5BBA8 reads as a warm, softened neutral with enough grey in it to keep the beige side calm and grown-up. On a wall it lifts the light a little without feeling pale, so it can make a room feel airier while still retaining weight. In a north-facing room it will look slightly cooler and more taupe, with the grey stepping forward. In south-facing light the warmer beige note comes out more clearly, giving it a softer, creamier presence beside natural oak, walnut, linen and patterned upholstery.

How to use it

Rolling Fog works well in sitting rooms, bedrooms and hallways where you want a background that is neither stark white nor obviously coloured. It sits easily with painted joinery in deeper neutrals, and it is especially good alongside warm timber, cane, muted velvet and woven curtains in sand, stone or tobacco tones.

A calm neutral that brings warmth without looking yellow.
