Vannerie - Poivre

Escales Lointaines Fabric5064-01

Vannerie - Poivre has a calm, peppered taupe character, seen here in a tightly structured weave of softly contrasting horizontal threads. Its understated basket-like texture gives the surface depth without introducing a bold motif.

About this fabric

The colour sits between cool taupe and muted brown, with fine cream, grey and charcoal threads creating a gently mottled appearance. Closely packed horizontal rows give the fabric a small-scale woven texture, while the irregular flecks prevent the surface from looking flat or uniform. In the image, the darker threads recede into the ground and the lighter fibres catch the light subtly, creating quiet visual movement. No performance features are noted for this catalogued fabric.

How to use it

Use Poivre as a grounding taupe on an upholstered chair or sofa, or pair it with warm ivory, charcoal and weathered wood for a restrained, textural room. Its muted peppering also allows patterned cushions to sit alongside it without competing for attention.

The muted taupe ground and fine peppered weave bring quiet depth to upholstery, cushions, curtains or layered schemes.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
