Shashiko Gunmetal

Montage Fabric

Shashiko Gunmetal has a cool, softly variegated grey ground covered in a closely spaced geometric weave. Its fine linked motif gives the surface quiet pattern and a subtly textured finish.

About this fabric

The woven design is made up of tiny repeating diamond and lozenge shapes, creating a precise all-over surface rather than a bold, open motif. In this colourway, the gunmetal grey reads muted and cool, with lighter threads catching across the pattern to give the cloth gentle depth. The dense, even construction visible in the swatch gives it a tailored appearance suitable for either upholstery or drapery. No composition, width, rub-test rating or performance features have been supplied for this fabric.

How to use it

Pair Shashiko Gunmetal with pale stone, charcoal or weathered wood for a cool, considered scheme. Its small-scale geometry works particularly well on a tailored chair, headboard or softly structured curtain where the tonal pattern can be seen up close.

The cool gunmetal tone and closely woven geometry suit tailored upholstery, cushions and structured curtains.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Shashiko Gunmetal without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
