About this fabric

The ground shifts between chestnut, taupe and muted charcoal-grey threads, creating a smoked brown impression rather than a flat single shade. Uneven horizontal stripes vary in width across the face, with finer lines and broader bands catching the light differently. The dense-looking weave gives the design a tactile, grounded character suitable for upholstery or drapery. No composition, width, rub test or performance feature has been supplied for this exact fabric.

How to use it

Use M646 Chestnut to bring warm, understated depth to a room with timber furniture, stone surfaces and natural neutral upholstery. Its broken horizontal striping can add quiet structure to curtains, cushions or a larger upholstered piece.

Pair the chestnut-brown ground with warm timber, stone and quieter textured plains.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside M646 Chestnut without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
