About this fabric

This fabric is catalogued as a velvet, and its visible face has the dense, softly mottled appearance associated with a napped surface rather than a flat solid. Subtle cooler grey passages sit alongside warmer stone-brown flecks, giving Moonrock restrained depth without a pronounced motif. The upper portion of the supplied image shows this tonal texture clearly; the lower portion is affected by bright digital image distortion, so its surface cannot be assessed reliably there.

How to use it

Use the cool grey-taupe colour on a tailored sofa, dining chair or ottoman where its muted, weathered depth can balance warm timber and pale stone. Keep surrounding textiles simple to let the low-contrast mottling provide the visual interest.

Use its cool grey-taupe depth to soften tailored upholstery.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
