Misc Fabric

Donegal - Silt is a deep, understated woven textile that sits between charcoal grey and earthy taupe. Its close surface is gently mottled, giving the dark colour more depth than a flat solid.

About this fabric

The visible weave is fine and even, with subtle diagonal movement and tiny shifts between smoky grey, brown and charcoal threads. This blended surface keeps the shade soft rather than stark, while the darker overall tone gives it a grounded, architectural presence. As a substantial-looking upholstery fabric, it would bring quiet structure to a chair, sofa or headboard without introducing a strong motif. No additional performance or composition specification has been supplied for this colourway.

How to use it

Pair Silt with warm timber, aged leather and chalky neutrals to draw out its earthy brown-grey undertones. In a lighter scheme, use it as a deep upholstered counterpoint to cream walls and pale textured textiles.

Use this deep, softly mottled taupe-grey on upholstery where a restrained woven texture can anchor the room.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
